Package Updates - October 2021

We've introduced more updates this week to improve the packages features as per the suggestions we've received. All of the details are provided below.

Customise the number of passes included in a package, set the package start date, restrict bookings to only within the duration, and add/remove which classes are included in the package.


Automatic pass synchronisation

Previously, the passes issued as part of a package were 'as sold'. This meant that if you made changes to the package after they were purchased, the passes would not update accordingly. They would instead, remain the same as when they were issued.

However, we've now updated this so that all passes are automatically synchronised to the changes you made to the package. This happens when you add or remove a class via the 'Sessions' tab within the package editor in your account dashboard.

For example: If you add a class to the package, the system will automatically refresh the passes to allow clients to book that class.


Restrict bookings inside/outside the expiry date

The "Duration" of a package sets the 'use-by-date' for the passes by default. This means the package passes can actually be used to book sessions which actually take place after the "Duration" period has expired.

This is still the case but now, we've introduced an additional the option to restrict passes to only be used on sessions that actually take place within the duration period. You can enable this by ticking the relevant box below the 'Duration' drop down field via the package editor in your account dashboard.

For example: If you'd like to offer a "4-week pass" which only allows the clients to book classes that happen within the four-week period, tick this option in the package editor to restrict the bookings accordingly.


Additional notes to help you

We often get questions about the best way to setup packages, so we've added some helpful notes in the package editor to provide you with some guidance. We've added similar notes below, but you can see them anytime in your account dashboard.

 

The number of passes included in a package 

When a client buys a package, they are given passes to be used to book your classes. These passes can be given as a single batch (i.e. total passes), or spread over a period of weeks (i.e. passes per week).

 

Package start date

By default, a package begins at the date of purchase, and bookings can be made immediately. Leave the start date blank if you'd like the package to start from date of purchase. Alternatively, if you'd rather the package start on a specific date, you can set that in the start date field manually.

 

Restricting bookings to only within the duration

By default the "Duration" sets the use-by-date for the package, but the package can actually be used to book future sessions after the "Duration" period. Tick the box to "Only allow bookings on sessions actually within the Duration period."

 

Adding/removing classes in the package editor

Choose which sessions clients can book with the package passes. Select the session from the drop down, then click the green 'Add' button. Repeat this until all of the relevant sessions are included. Remove a class that has been added by clicking the red 'Remove' button. You can add or remove sessions at any point in the future.
