You can now set package durations in days, weeks or months.
Here's a crash course about package start dates, expiry dates and durations.
What are package durations?
Durations are simply how long clients have to use their package passes before they expire.
How package durations work.
When a package is issued through a client purchase, the passes included in the package have a start date and a duration. Both are combined to give the expiry date (i.e. the deadline for clients to use their package passes).
Start date: Some packages have a specific start date, set in the account dashboard. Others don't have a start date set, therefore the start date is from the date of purchase.
Duration: Set in days, weeks or months.
Expiry date: The duration is then applied to the start date to determine the expiry date of the package.
What updates we've made to package durations.
Until this update, you have been able to set up package with a certain number of weeks as the duration. Now we've introduced the extra options of setting the duration in days or months too.
The main benefits of this update are:
- Setting specific durations for packages (e.g. '10-day Taster Package').
- Controlling when a package will start and end on exact dates (e.g. January Class Pass).
- More flexibility in the options you have in terms of setting the duration (days, weeks and months).
How to set up the package duration.
Access packages by using the 'My services' drop down to select 'Packages'. This leads to the packages list where new packages can be created and existing packages can be edited.
Within the package settings (either creating or editing), there are a number of fields including the 'Duration' section. There are two fields:
- Period: Enter a number.
- Interval: Select Days, Weeks or Months.
Always remember to click the green save button at the bottom of the package settings before leaving the page.
Example
If the clients have 6 weeks to use their package passes, set the 'Period' field by entering "6" and set the 'Interval' field to "Weeks" by selecting it from the drop down list.
