Based in Didsbury South Manchester, this day retreat has been designed to help you connect to the inner parts of yourself through Yoga & Creative Expression, allowing you to find balance and harmony with nature as you transition into a new season.
As we move away from summer, the mind and body are looking to find a new rhythm. In Autumn we move towards the ‘fertile darkness’ that lives deep in our psyches. Throughout the day we will explore the shadow forces of our unconscious which are churning to be held, understood and released in the same cycle occurring with the Earth.
During Autumn the plants are peaking and drying, the colours continuously changing as the low light from the sun glows through the trees. You will begin the retreat on a walk in the crisp autumn air, allowing your senses to open and soak up the elements of nature around you. Guided by Trainee Art Therapist Rosie Ince - you will be exploring the theme of Light and Dark by connecting creatively with aspects of the natural environment that reflect what ‘light’ and ‘dark’ mean to you in relation to your life and well-being.
On arrival at the venue you will be greeted with hot, organic herbal teas and delicious, spiced Ayurvedic inspired cake bites. During this time you will be creating art with the natural objects gathered on your walk, giving you the opportunity to reflect and journal.
From mid afternoon, Eirian will guide you through a strong, heating FIRE Mandala Vinyasa. Designed to get your body moving, building internal heat to balance out the Air element of Vata that dominates during this season! Expect to get sweaty, allowing you to really feel the element of fire - burning through what no longer serves you whilst detoxing your body.
Following the flow a nutritious, Ayurvedic inspired vegan stew will be served - cooked with seasonal root vegetables & warming spices to stimulate your digestive system.
After the meal Eirian will lead you through an Earth focused Yin Yoga & Meditation practice - allowing you to really ground down and soak up the nourishment of the day’s activities.

2pm - 3pm - REFLECTION - Creating art with the gathered materials & journaling whilst refuelling on Aryuvedic inspired taster cakes and herbal teas
3pm - 4.30pm - BUILD HEAT AND RELEASE - 90 Minute FIRE Mandala Vinyasa
4.30pm - 5.15pm - NOURISH - Aryuvedic inspired vegan stew
5.15pm - 7pm - GROUND DOWN - 90 Minute EARTH element Yin Yoga & Meditation
7pm - Depart
